Puhoi Landcare is a group of people who oin together to work on land management issues in their local area - for us this means anyone who lives within the Puhoi Catchment, farmers, lifestyle block owners and householders. What we have in common is a love of Puhoi and a desire to enhance and protect our local environment.
The Trees for Survival programme is run by the TFS Charitable Trust which encourages school students to grow and plant native trees and shrubs to:
- help control soil erosion
- safeguard water quality
- create new habitats for native birds, other plants and animals
- beautify our environment
- remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere
